Recycling and Disposal of Polymeric Wastes

Course is concerned to understanding processes of recyclation and disposal of polymeric waste (thermoplastics, reactoplastics, rubbers) as a complex problem including laws, economic and technical demands. Course is focused to overall process starting with waste collection and ending of recyclate utilization with accent to minimize of disposal site and influence to enviroment. Cource include at least one visit of recycling company.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The Origin, classification and characteristics of the waste Polymers. The Options for recycling plastics (chemical, mechanical, energetic) with special focus on mechanical recycling. Legislative, technological and economical interconnections of Polymer recycling.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students. Two tours of the recycling plants are offered.

Examination in written form, 2 hour for making it.

Aims

Knowledges of legislating and practical problems relate to recyclation and liquidation of all kind of polymer waste. Graduate obtain basement for working in recycling company and have abilities to suplementation itself in this field.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attending on the lectures is recomended. Student prepare all partial works. Exam is not posible to do without sending every partial works.
