Laboratory Classes in Water Analysis

Determination of basic physical and chemical parameters of quality of drinking water; agreement of acquired parameters with valid legislation (pH, organoleptic qualities, basic chemical parameters). Analysis of other types of waters - surface, ground, mineral and waste water. Determination of organic substances in waters by the means of basic instrumental methods and portable analytical tools and devices.

Course curriculum
2. Assignment of biochemical and chemical oxygen demand
3. Measurements of absorbance and absorption spectra, measurement of turbidity
4. Spectrofotometric assignment of iron, manganese, ammonium ion, aluminum and nitrate
5. Assignment of several chemical characteristics using portable analytical tools and devices (spectrophotometer Nova 60)
6. Analysis of unknown sample of water
