Introduction into politology, basic conceptions, comparation of politics and politology, the most important political systems - republic, kingdom, empire, democracy versus totalitarianism, problems of the modern democracy, the principles of the czech constitutional law - political parties, free elections etc., principles of international public law - diplomacy, rules of the war, contemporary political situation inthe Czech Republic and abroad, European Union

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will aquire elementary infromation about political system in the Czech Republic and in other both democratic and totalitarian countries.
They will familiarize with conception democracy and with its main atributes like for example free elections.
Good knowledge of this subject schould help to students to create better imagination about current world politics and adopt own position

Knowledge at the level of a secondary school graduate, general knowledge.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

By means of a classified credit granted at the end of the relevant term.
Presuppositions of a credit granting: Successful result in the final test in writing

4. Political system in Germany, GB, Fr, USA, Russia
5. Democratic ans totalitarian systems

Aims

Subject objectives: The subject is focused on good orientation in political system of the Czech Republic and systems of other important countries of the world

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The participation in the lecture-courses is not compulsory. For the students of a combined study form consultations are available. Each of students has to take part in consultation weekly and problems of subject are solved.
