Nature Protection and Sustainable Development

Basic principles of Sustainable Development (SD), Terms, Timelina of SD, conception, principles, main aims, values and rules, strategy of SD. Global problems of mankind (change of climate, ozone depletion, pollution of air, fresh waters, oceans, soil and change of biodiversity). Importance Declaration, Convention of SD (Agenda 21, Kyoto protocol commitments, Millennium Ecosystem Assessment). Characteristic features of plans of SD, indicators of SD, methods to measure and reach SD. Activities of the European Union and the Czech Republic in the field of SD. Basic principles of nature protection. Ecological footprint. The actual state of environment in the Czech Republic.

2. Principles of SD (Objectivities, Qaulity of Life, Diversity, Carryng capacity, Future Generations, Polluter Pays, precaution)
3. Problems of pollutions, resources, Environmental Ethics, World in the balance Earth peril.
4. Climate change, Ozone Depletion, problems of oceans, Freswater, Wildlife, soil, Land Use, Waste, Radioactivity.
5. The importance of declaration, convention of SD, Key documents (Bruntland Report, Rio Earth Summit, Agenda 21, Kyoto protocol, Johannesburg 2002, Millenium Ecosystem Assessment, 2003), Plans of Implementation, OECD. Key documents of SD in EU and CZ.
6. Indicators od SD, Plans of Environment 2010 - Environmental Issue
7. World and national nature protection.
8. Principles of nature protection.
9. Environment, strategy, perspective. Ecological footprint.
10. Nature and lanscape protection. Natura 2000, important declaration.
