Aims

The aim of the course is a detailed study of selected fragments of organic chemistry and organic synthesis. The course will focus on chemistry of functional groups and its transformation, as well as methods of protecting functional groups. Students will also be introduced to modern methods of C-C bond formation and subsequent incorporation of molecules into oligomeric and polymeric structures. The course will be focused on single and multistage syntheses. Students will also learn the chemistry of dendrimers and the processes used to separate and purify organic molecules. The structure of the course is designed so that after completing this discipline students are well prepared for the study of other courses that immediately theoretically and practically follow up this study course.
