Technology in Silicate Industry

The content of the subject fully covers the proccesses and their controll in the technology of silicites. In particular the transport and storage of solids, liquids and gases, grinding and grinders, milling and mills, drying and drying equipment, flitration of gases and liquids, wash of quarry stone, furnaces and furnace systems, calcinators, heating and cooling, transfer of substances within the plant site – conveyor belts, piping systems, centrifugation, separation and basic tests and analyses neccessary at the control and adjusting of silicite production are meant.

The attendance is not obligatory, solely the knowledge gained in corresponding semester will be evaluated.
Aims
The student has an overview of equipment and processes used in industry. The student can explain on what principles processes and devices work and evaluate the suitability of using these methods for specific applications.
