Biomaterials II: Applications and Technologies

Introduction to biomaterials, various technological methods used for extraction and preparation of biomaterials, characterization of biopolymers by various techniques and structure confirmation, chemical modification of biomaterials, preparation of various forms of biopolymers, medical use of biomaterials between metal/metal oxide nanoparticles and biomaterial, environmental applications of biomaterials, general overview of biomaterials and implantation process, chemical interaction between biomaterials with synthetic polymers and proteins, injection and soft hydrogels based on natural and synthetic biomaterials, biomaterial-based bionanocomposites.

Aims
Students will improve their knowledge of Biomaterials: Extraction process from different sources, characterizations and chemical modifications, different technology that used for fabrication different biomaterials and their applications in medical and environmental sectors.
