Modern methods of food waste valorization

Students will become familiar with the various processing technologies, use, recycling, disposal and minimization of waste in agriculture, food, forestry and other associated industries. Emphasis will be placed on the processes of biological waste treatment options hydrotermínlá treatment, hydrolysis, and detoxification of waste materials. In this course, students will be informed about the legal norms dealing with waste disposal and methods of analysis of waste agri-food complex.

The course will discuss the following topics:
1. Overview of waste from the agro-industrial complex, the possibilities of their use.
2. Wastes from the meat industry and the fats and their possible use.
3. Wastes from the dairy and cheese production, utilization of whey.
4. Wastes from the mill, the starch, sugar, drožďárenského and canning industry.
5. waste from distilleries, malt, beer and wine and their possible applications.
6. lignocellulosic wastes and their processing, termickám chemical and enzymatic treatment and use of hydrolysates.
7 The issue of packaging, recycling, biodegradability, intelligent packaging.
8. Waste water treatment processes and the use of sewage sludge.
9. Complex utilization of biomass biorefinery concept.
10. List of biotechnological processes indexation of various wastes.
11. Legislation waste management, waste management.

The aim of this course is to acquaint students with various processing technologies, use, recycling, disposal and minimization of waste in agriculture, food, forestry and other associated industries. Emphasis will be placed on the processes of waste treatment and the possibility of indexation of waste materials in the use of biotechnology and other types of applications.
