Technology of Environmental Protection

This course is to acquaint students with the basic technological processes that don't extremely pollute the environment, and the technological processes that reduce the content of harmful substances in environmental media.

Course curriculum
Basic problems of environmental pollution. Fate of pollutants in the environment. Short-term and long-term sources of pollution. Ways of pollutants distribution. Block 2:
Economic instruments for air protection.
Block 3:
Air protection technology.
Block 4:
Composition and properties of natural waters. Water treatment technologies, protection of surface water and water resources. Wastewater.
Block 5:
Soil protection technology. Short-term and long-term soil contamination.
Block 6:
Waste treatment technologies, waste types (industrial and municipal waste, waste resulting from extraordinary events). Overview of waste disposal technologies. Toxic and radioactive waste treatment.
