This work reports on a new approach of simultaneous electrical- and selective optical (fluorescence of PBFI probe) characterization of ion exchnage in organic semiconductors (PEDOT:PSS). The understanding of ion exchange is one of the key factors for advanced development of novel bioelectronic devices, i.e. organic electrochemical transistor.
