Original Abstract
This work extends our investigation of nitrogen post-discharges and presents results obtained during spectroscopic observations of nitrogen-hydrogen DC flowing post discharge. The plasma was generated in the Pyrex tube at pressure of 1 kPa and discharge current of 100 mA. Optical emission spectra were recorded in the range of 316-780 nm at post-discharge times up to 50 ms. Nitrogen-hydrogen mixtures contained hydrogen in the range of 0-92 %, and the gas flow in the system was maintained constant for all mixtures. The observation point of spectra was kept at two wall temperatures - ambient temperature and temperature of liquid nitrogen (corresponding temperature in plasma was about 150 K). Three nitrogen spectral systems and hydrogen atomic Balmer series lines were identified. The experimental data showed strong quenching of all nitrogen radiative states in the post-discharge even at a few percent of hydrogen addition.
