Original Abstract
The aim of the proposed contribution is to introduce the recent results and experiences of our group dealing with the characterization of selected conjugated polymers for optoelectronic applications. From the physical point of view the main factors for the application of these materials are the charge carriers (photo)generation, their transport and recombination. Therefore the detailed studies of physical processes, in particular those of the photoconductivity, electro- and photoluminescence, photochromic phenomena and their dynamics in selected conjugated polymers were done. Our results serve not only for investigation new polymers for optoelectronic applications, but in particular we concentrate on basic fundamental phenomena 1,2. A relation between properties of individual molecules and properties of macroscopic molecular systems allows one to envisage construction of molecular-scale electronic devices. The first results of our present project - construction of the prototype of light driven molecular current modulator based on charge-dipole interactions - will be presented too
