Original Abstract
English abstract
Biogenic binders based on proteins from some by-products of pharmaceutical industry were tested. These water-soluble, non-toxic polymers contain variable types of polypeptide molecules of long chains of amino acids, which were added to the foundry sand in the amount of 0.25 - 2 %. The mixture can be prepared in advance and dried for the later utilization. The low content of water under 4 % enables the rapid drying of core, the system does not need organic solvents. No chemical reaction takes place in the system, only dehydration brought about by heating. The sand containing round grains is prefered. The tensile strength depends on the content of the binder in the mixture and can be controlled in the demanded range around 1 MPa. The surface of the specimens possesses good quality and is stable to attriton. The good thermal desintegration enables easy recycling of the mold material including the utilizing of the unused rests of the mixture due to the water solubility of the binder.
