S cílem podstatného snížení až úplné eliminace toxických emisí ve slévárnách jsou vyvíjena nová pojiva na bázi proteinů, kdy je možno využít odpady farmaceutického či kožedělného průmyslu. Z dalších zkoušených pojiv jsou to některé deriváty polysacharidů. Podstatnou výhdou je vodorozpustnost nových pojiv, která umožňuje snadnou recyklaci materiálu forem - pjiva i ostřiva. Modifikující chemické přísady umožňují zlepšit funkci některých tradičních pojiv, např. bentonitů, nově jsou testovány i některeré speciální cementy. Vyvíjená pojiva umožňují aplikace i mimo obor slévárenství.

With the goal of the reduction or even elimination of the toxic emissions in the foundry the new binders fulfilling the needs of the clean working environment are developed. The research is aimed at biogenic binders based on proteins. It is possible to take advantage of the use of the waste products of pharmaceutical or leather manufacturing industry. Others binders tested are some polysacharide derivatives. The significant advantage of such binders is the water permeability, which enables to easily recycle both binder and aggregate. The binders developed are usable beside the foundry industry ass well.
