Original Abstract
Thin films of poly(dimethyl silane) PDMS were examined on preparations and various physical properties. Available powder polymers were vacuum evaporated to deposit oriented thin films. Orientation was tested on optical anisotropy. The PDMS evaporation resulted in oligomer film with good chain orientation perpendicular to the substrate plane. It occurred intensive luminescence at the wavelength of 325 nm. PDMS exhibited continuous tough layer. It was used as an active layer in ITO-PDMS-Al(Mg) and ITO-Pc-PDMS-Al(Mg) electro luminescent structure of organic light emitting diode (OLED). Electro luminescence intensity and V-A characteristics of structures are presented. Further improvement was achieved by the phthalocyanine (Pc) interlayer deposition. Pc served as a hole transport layer and an injection contact. The electro luminescence was tested on intensity, spectral composition and stability. Strong effect of injecting layer on electro luminescent efficiency was observed. The formation effect and injection degradation also occurred and limited the OLED lifetime.
