Original Abstract
CAE is an amino acid cationic surfactant derived from DL-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, L-Arginine and a fatty acid. This surfactant is mainly used in the cosmetic industry. The exact value of critical micellar concentration of CAE is not known yet. In this research density, ultrasonic velocity and surface tension of CAE solutions in ultra-pure deionized water were examined. The density was measured by densitometry at 25 °C and 37 °C. The ultrasonic velocity values were assessed by using high resolution ultrasonic spectrometry at a constant temperature 25 °C. The following graph shows dependence of surface tension on the concentration of surfactant CAE. The critical micelle concentration of CAE in ultra-pure deionized water at 25 °C was determined for concentration 0.37g/l. Subsequently, the value of critical micelle concentration was verified by other methods as well.
