Original Abstract
The literature review of proposed doctoral thesis summarizes knowledge of both present-day biomaterials and the new type of “smart” biomaterials such as thermosensitive copolymers. Among those copolymers whose aqueous solutions are liquid at laboratory temperature but turn into a solid gel as the temperature rises to 37 °C belong e.g. amphiphilic triblock copolymers based on the biodegradable hydrophobic polylactide, polyglycolide and hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) (PLGA ̶ PEG ̶ PLGA).
Keywords
thermosensitive triblock copolymers, hydroxyapatite, drug release, rheology, core-shell particles
