Original Abstract
Poor corrosion resistance prevents wider use of magnesium alloys. Manganese-phosphate and chromate coatings were applied to improve corrosion resistance. Coatings were applied on as cast alloy and on heat treated alloy with fine microstructure. Corrosion resistance was evaluated by potenciodynamic measurements.
