Original Abstract
The formation of products produced in DC glow discharge fed by a N2-CH4 gas mixture with CH4 contents in range from 1 % to 4 % CH4 has been studied using Proton-Transfer-Reaction Mass Spectrometry (PTR-MS). The measurements were carried out in flowing regime at ambient temperature and pressure. The main identified compounds are hydrogen cyanide, methanimine, hydrazine, acetonitrile, methyldiazene, ethylamine, cyclohexadiene and pyrazine. All detected compounds and their relative abundances are determined with respect to the experimental conditions (gas composition and applied power). These same molecules were observed by the Cassini-Huygens probe in Titan's atmosphere.
