Original Abstract
Nanotechnology represents a new solution for variety of applications in the biomedical, industrial and military fields. The interconnection of nanodevices (nano world) and the Internet (micro world) defines the new networking that is further referred as Internet of Nano-Things. Nanodevices can be considered as basic functional units consisting of an arranged set of molecules performing (at this moment) very simple tasks. The traditional communication technologies are not suitable for an application in nanonetworks due to their common communication range and devices' power consumption. Using molecules instead of electromagnetic waves to encode and transmit the information represents the new paradigm that demands a novel solution such as molecular transceivers or routing protocols for nanonetworks. The research in nanonetworks is in its embryonal stage therefore there are many untouched open issues. In this paper we present the initial simulation-based study on the movement of nanodevices in human body. We created the model of nanonetwork's environment in NS-3 (Network Simulator 3) and simulated the calcium signaling communication between the nanodevices. All achieved results are presented and discussed and the end of this paper.
