Royal and Selected Cucumber Znojmo 2024
Also this year, the traditional competition of domestic producers of pickled cucumbers "Královská okurka, Výběrová okurka and Pikantní okurka" took place in Znojmo. This is a competition for domestic producers of pickled cucumbers who supply their products to the Czech market. The aim is, in addition to promoting this traditional 'Znojmo' food, to help consumers find their way around the processed cucumber market. The competition is held under the auspices of the City of Znojmo, Znojmo Beseda, the Ministry of Agriculture and participating producers of processed pickles across the Czech Republic.The competition consists in the evaluation of the sensory quality of the products by an expert committee, which was formed by certified sommeliers, representatives of participating companies - specialists in food production, and experts from the academic sphere, from leading Czech universities. On behalf of IFSBT, this prestigious event was attended and evaluated by doc. Ing. Eva Vítová, Ph.D., Ing. Štěpánka Trachtová, Ph.D. and Ing. Zuzana Slavíková. The results of the evaluation will traditionally be published during the Cucumber Festival in August 2024 in Znojmo. The winner will be able to boast the award on the label or packaging of the product.
