Organic optoelectronic materials have received much attention over the past decades as promising alternatives for wide range of applications. By tailoring the properties of these materials through organic synthesis, novel compounds with enhanced characteristics can be developed for specific uses. Nowadays, a large group of these materials explores the intersection of organic synthesis, bioinspired materials, and medical applications. By tailoring the properties of these materials through organic synthesis, novel compounds with enhanced characteristics can be developed for specific uses. In the realm of photodynamic and photothermal therapy, it is important to develop new near- infrared-absorbing molecules, such as macrocyclic phthalocyanines or porphyrins. This pursuit represents a significant challenge that can be addressed through innovative synthetic approaches and thorough optimization of reaction conditions. Using of tools of organic synthesis for preparation and study of bioinspired materials uniquely declares potential of organic optoelectronic systems in advancing medical technology and their potential connections to established fields.
