Distribution of elements in fish scales was studied using techniques LA-ICP-MS a synchrotron hard X-ray microfluorescence. For scale visualization hard X-ray micro-radiography was used. The pro and contras of these techniques are discussed. It is shown that X-ray microfluorescence and hard X-ray micro-radiography as a visualization techniques can be used comlplimentarly for analysis of samples with relatively large areas.
