This work is focused on improving the biocompatibility and hydrophilicity of the polymer PEDOT:PSS. For this purpose, a novel technique for modification of PEDOT:PSS surface by the arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD), using a bifunctional photolinker sulfo-SANPAH was studied. Moreover, the properties of PEDOT doped with different anions were studied as the limited biocompatibility of PEDOT:PSS is probably due to the presence of cell adhesion-restricting sulfonate groups of PSS moiety.
