O projektu

The objective of the project is to design 3D mechanical lightweight auxetic metamaterial on the microscale in order to enhance impact resistance under large deformations with special focus on chiral structures. The desired response over a broad range of strains and effective energy dissipation will be ensured by incorporating gradient porosity. This approach is expected to show unprecedented mechanical performance while being scalable by additive manufacturing. The combination of chiral auxetic structures with gradient porosity opens new possibilities in the field of mechanical metamaterials.
