O projektu
Popis anglicky
The nanoparticles change both static conformational structure and lengthen the chain reptation time considerably. Model based on the reptation dynamics, proposed by the PI, is capable to predict effects of structural variables on spherulite growth rate in the presence of solid nanoparticles. It is proposed to investigate effects of adding nanoparticles on the morphogenesis of spherulitic structure and deformation response of nanocomposites with PP and PE matrices of different molecular architecture. Morphology of nanocomposites will be investigated utilizing optical and electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, x-ray diffraction, hot stage and measurements of density. Mechanical behavior will be explored using dynamic-mechanical thermal spectroscopy, static tensile testing and microdeformation mechanisms will be investigated employing newly designed microtensile tester operating in the viewing field of the Confocal Laser Microscope. MD/MC simulations will be employed to determine if theretardation of the reptation dynamics is due to the chain immobilization or chain topological confinement or increased chain structural frustration in the vicinity of the nanoparticle surface. Also, the nature of entanglements will be clarified, comparing the model of entanglement as the topological constraint with the dynamic fragility approach based on dynamically rearranging chain cluster.
